Do you want to shave? Do you have sensitive skin too? I know that it can be so hard to find the razor for your skin and do it the right way so that your skin stays happy. If ingrown hairs and irritations are starting to annoy your then you're in the right place. Here are some of the best razors for sensitive skin both for ladies and lads. I'm also going to be sharing a few shaving tips for those who don't know what procedure to follow. 🙂
Some of the Best Razors for Sensitive Skin
Here are some of the best razors that work well on sensitive skin. Read reviews below to get more details.
Made from steel
Low cost blade replacement
Best Safety Razors for Sensitive Skin
Safety razors are well known for being gentle with skin. They’re cost effective and cause no irritations. They’re getting increasingly popular amongst both men and women and that’s simply beautiful! For those who’re just starting to shave, a safety razor may not be the best choice. It’s likely that you’ll cut your skin causing unnecessary bleeding. It’s all about the angle! And if you learn how to maneuver that, you’ll probably be safe to use one yourself.
VIKINGS BLADE the Chieftain Safety Razor
Here is a high quality Swedish safety razor made from steel. Once you hold it, you feel the weight. It’s sharp and pretty much just perfect for sensitive skin. It comes with a leatherette and a suede case that has a mirror in it. I’d say it makes it a good gift for both men and women. What I love about this product is that it gives great results for a very small price. Definitely worth trying for both men and women.
Baxter of California Safety Razor
The beautiful handle is not the only thing this razor has to offer. You can easily use this safety razor with water, no need to add shaving creams that only dry out your skin. It’s chrome-plated and pretty much ideal for daily use. I like the fact that it’s made in Germany. For some reason the stuff I get from there is usually higher quality. It goes well with other Baxter products too. Once again, a good gift for your friend since it comes in a black box with instructions on how to use it. Definitely one of the best razors for sensitive skin too.
Edwin Jagger DE89bl Chrome Plated Double Edge Safety Razor
The name says it all. Edwin Jagger was established in 1988 with a mission to make male grooming easier and more efficient. This razor shows it all. It gives a very close shave without irritating skin making it a perfect choice for those with sensitive skin. Each razor comes with 5 Derby safety blades so that it’s ready to do the job! All in all, a cheap product with low cost blade replacement and spectacular results.
Best Electric Razors for Sensitive Skin
I don’t know about you but I’m a big fan of electric razors. I think they’re easy to use and shaving with them is simply pleasant. I like how I can just take my shaver out of the drawer and put it to work right away. My skin seems to love it and I never have any problems with ingrown hairs or irritated skin. All in all, electric razors are good for sensitive skin even though they don’t always give the closest shave. Here are some of my favorite and by far the best products I’ve encountered. I know they’re intended for men. However, they’re too good not to be used by women, trust me! You simply have to try one. 🙂
Panasonic ES-LA63-S Arc4 Electric Razor
This small gadget has made it to the list due to its 30-degree nanotech blades that cut more efficiently. The blades are made of stainless-steel and are hypoallergenic. The combination of these features provide comfort even for sensitive skin. The good thing about this little baby is that you can use it in shower as well. Doing that usually provides better, more pleasant experience with smaller possibility of irritations. It also stands out with its ability to shave fast. Its motor moves at the speed of 14,000 cycles per minute. Just imagine how many hairs you can catch and cut just in seconds. As you’ll find out here, I used it for my legs. The pivoting head is extra helpful when you want to shave around bones. It’s a truly good razor for sensitive skin no matter whether you’re a woman or a man.
Braun Series 7 790cc Cordless Electric Foil Shaver
Braun Series 7 790cc is made in Germany and comes with a lot of fancy features that will certainly help anyone with sensitive skin to enjoy the procedure more. It has its own cleaning station that cleans the shaver hygienically and lubricates it. The razor feels like new every day. That’s great but it all comes for an extra price. The gadget also has 5 cleaning modes for different skin types. It provides the sort of personalized shaving no other razors do. It pulls out even the thickest hair and does it super-fast. You’ll basically need to go over a patch of skin only once to shave all the hair. That helps to avoid irritations.

Best Cartridge Razors for Sensitive Skin
For those with smaller budget and who’re only trying out their limits, I’ve found a few cartridge razors that are cheap and still great at shaving. Cartridge razors stand out for the closeness of shave that they give. However, you’re more likely to suffer from rashes and razor bumps. I do think these two following products won’t cause you that trouble though. Have a look and tell me what you think. Once again, ignore designs of those razors– they’ll do a good job on anyone’s skin.
Gillette Venus Embrace Sensitive
This Gillete razor, as you’ve probably realized already, has been made mostly for women. Men can use it as well. However, it may not be the best choice for those who want to shave their face with this one. Anyway, this little baby has a protective ribbon of moisture that contains aloe. That’s super helpful for sensitive skin since aloe has anti-inflammatory properties. It’s beautiful and pretty much perfect for legs or underarms. I would use it on bikini area too. The razor has 5 blades that improve overall shaving experience and give you a close shave. That also means that it won’t irritate your skin as much. All in all, quite a good choice for those who want to use a cheaper razor.
Gillette Mach3 Sensitive Power Razor
Yet another Gillete razor. This one is made for men. However, I don’t believe that males should be the only ones to use the product. Women shouldn’t be afraid to buy one either. It has a few good features that make it suitable for sensitive skin. Here are some of them: protective microfils that help to avoid cuts when shaving as well as blades with advanced coating. You can use any Gillette Mach3 blades for this razor and get that lovely shave every day. It comes with an AAA battery too.

Shaving Tips for Sensitive Skin
Here are some of the tips that I’d love to share. They apply both for men and women and are quite important to follow. I know, when you want to shave, you just want to shave! You don’t really care about the details. However, you need to do it if you want to get it all right. I’m quite sure you don’t shave just for the sake of getting ingrown hairs! The steps you need to follow are pretty simple and, with all of the honesty, easy to follow. You don’t have to spend a lot of time or money to shave the right way.

Exfoliate on Daily Basis
I’ve been talking about exfoliation and the perks of it on this blog for million times by now! It’s just so important! Whenever you hear a word “exfoliation”, you probably think that it’s some complicated procedure that takes loads of time. That’s not true at all! In fact, you’re probably already exfoliating every day without even realizing it. There are two types of exfoliation, and it’s up to you which one you prefer more.
You exfoliate mechanically probably every day. I personally love using a loofah in the shower, and I found it to be the most convenient way to exfoliate. I usually put some soap on it and just rub it into my skin. Simple as that. Some of you will enjoy using exfoliating brushes. You can either buy electric ones or just simple ones. The latter tends to be cheaper.
Chemical exfoliation is amazing since you can use products straight from your kitchen to make your own natural body scrubs. I love the freedom of creation whenever you want to make your own natural remedy and exfoliate the hell out of your skin! Ha ha! You can use salt, sugar or even coffee grains for that. Believe me, there are even more products that could help your skin loads! If you are lazy, you can always buy a body scrub online or in a shop. They’ll do just fine.
Take a Warm Shower Before Shaving
Now that’s the step many of us skip. People tend to shave and then go to the shower. Especially women, I think, since we’re shaving bigger body parts and just feel the need to feel clean. However, taking a warm shower before shaving is essential. It can totally change the whole experience. What is all the fuss about? You’ll probably ask yourself. Well, taking a warm shower helps you to get rid of dead skin cells and opens pores letting them clear up. That helps the razor to get closer to the skin and give a better shave without cutting or irritating your skin. Sounds good, doesn’t it?
Learn How to Maneuver Your Razor
I’ve mentioned above that safety razors can be dangerous in a beginner’s hand. Knowing how to shave and maneuver your razor is truly important. You don’t want to irritate your skin or, even worse, cut it. All razors are used differently. Therefore, I cannot probably tell you how to use each. However, there are a few general rules that you should know. Here are some videos that you may find useful.

Tips on Using Straight Razor
Use Sharp Blades
Sharp blade is the key to success! I know that usually means that you’re more likely to cut yourself. However, that’s not necessarily true when it comes to shaving. Having a sharp blade helps to get a closer shave. It also means that you won’t need to go over the same area a few times and that reduces the probability of getting your skin irritated. Don’t be afraid of sharp blades. If you shave slowly and careful, the only thing that it will cut will be your hair. Therefore, make sure to change your blades constantly. Whenever you feel like you need to go over the same area a couple of times, it probably means that it’s time to change the blade.
Use Moisturizing Shaving Cream
Even though it’s not always necessary, depending on what razor you want to use, it can make a big difference. Shaving cream often soothes skin and prevents skin irritation. However, using wrong shaving cream can make it even worse. These products tend to dry out skin which can be horrible for sensitive ones. Make sure the shaving creams you use have moisturizing properties or try to make one yourself. When you mix up your own solution at least you know what’s in there. Here are some of the natural shaving cream recipes that I know!
Shave Towards the Grain
The mistake many do, especially when shaving legs or arms, is shaving against the grain. Don't you ever do it! Always shave towards the grain and protect your skin from unnecessary irritations. Otherwise, you can easily nick your skin. Just be careful.
Rinse with Cold Water
Once you’re finished, always wash your skin with cold water. Taking a cold shower is a good idea too since it boosts your immune system too! The reason why you need to use cold water and not warm one is because it closes pores and protects your skin from inflammations caused by bacteria. It also soothes your skin and calms it down.
Apply some oil or cream for a final touch! It should feel great! Getting some moisture in your skin helps with healing too.
