all natural shaving cream recipes

Winter passes, spring comes and we need to start wearing dresses and skirts! I feel like a poet saying that. However, that’s real and we need to start shaving! Shaving can be both very pleasurable and just horrible if it results in redness, pimples and all of the unpleasant stuff. Although, using a good shaving cream can often help both ladies and men to take shaving to another level and avoid side effects. I must admit shaving creams that are sold in supermarkets are not always the best and very often my skin feels dryer than it was before shaving. I think we can all agree that a good all natural shaving cream can be much more useful. That’s why I’m sharing a few recipes with you. Enjoy!

All Natural Shaving Cream Recipes

Moisturizing Shave Cream

Winter time can be harsh for our skin and it can get super dry. I know that whenever spring time comes, I suddenly realize that I need to shave my legs. However, very often my skin reacts to all of those shaving creams quite badly. They dry out my skin and leave my skin red. This natural shaving cream prevents it quite well. It doesn’t have any funny chemicals my skin may react to and moisturizes it very well!

Coconut oil is widely used to treat skin, because of its magical features. It moisturizes skin and protects it from sun. This product is great for skin and many studies show that. Read more about them if you’re interested. J You’ll be surprised how useful coconut oil can be.

You’ll need:

  • 1 glass of your favorite shampoo
  • 1 glass of your favorite conditioner
  • 5 tablespoons of coconut oil
  • 5 tablespoons of body cream or lotion

First of all, you need to make sure you have a glass jar in your cupboard somewhere. You don’t want to use plastic storage, because it contaminates whatever is inside it. You can obviously buy a clean plastic container. I think these are quite good to store anything that you later apply to skin. You need to put coconut oil in microwave for about 15 seconds so it warms up and becomes liquid. Afterwards, mix all of the ingredients together. Pour the mixture into the jar and keep it cool in the fridge.  Applying cold mixture will feel nice on your skin

Shaving Butter for Home

This one is going to be a shaving butter recipe. Why butter? It’s not going to be as soft as other homemade shaving creams; however, its properties are mesmerizing. It contains shea butter which is extracted from an African shea tree nut. It’s a natural moisturizer. In addition to that, it reduces bags, improves skin elasticity, collagen production and reduces scars. Therefore, it’s super useful and that’s the reason why you should use it for a natural shaving cream.

For guys I recommend peppermint or cedar oils while for women fruity ones such as orange, clementine, grapefruit, etc. Mix everything well and pour into a jar. Keep it in the fridge and use this shaving butter only when it cools down. Your skin will love it!

Aloe Shaving Cream

I’m a big fan of aloe. I’ll admit that. That’s probably the reason why I felt the need to include this recipe. So what’s so special about aloe vera? Aloe vera is a great antioxidant, it’s full of vitamins A, C, E, B12 as well as folic acid and choline. Sounds great doesn’t it? It has anti-inflammatory features that treat skin, treats rashes and skin irritations.

In addition to that, it’s also a moisturizer. That’s essential if you want to shave your hair. In a combination with sweet almond oil, it simply does wonders to your skin. Therefore, if you have skin that can make your life quite hard in terms of how it reacts to shaving and just environment, this shaving cream could be just for you. Enjoy!

You’ll need:

  • ¼ glass of aloe vera gel
  • ¼ glass of liquid castile soap
  • 2 tablespoons of sweet almond oil

  • ½ glass of filtered water

It’s a super simple recipe. All you need to do is mix everything together and pour the mixture into a soap pump or a jar. Whatever you prefer! Make sure to shake it before using it, because ingredients can easily separate and you won’t get the overall effect that this shaving cream offers. Afterwards, apply it gently to your skin and use your favorite razor to remove that hair.

Rosewater Shaving Cream for Ladies

This shaving cream is for girls only! It’s mostly because of the rosewater that it constitutes of. Rosewater helps to maintain skin’s pH, it hydrates skin and moisturizes it. In addition to that, rosewater has antibacterial properties which protect skin from unwanted bacteria and germs. Therefore, it helps to prevent acne.

In addition to that, rosewater is great for reducing puffiness. However, that’s not of concern just now. You should remember that it simply smells good and makes hair removal procedure much more pleasant.

You’ll need:

  • 1 tablespoon of rose hip oil
  • 2 tablespoons of rosewater
  • 1 glass of shea butter
  • 2 tablespoons of aloe vera
  • 2 tablespoons of aloe vera
  • Beetroot powder

Put shea butter in a bowl and then into a microwave to heat it up. Mix it with everything else and if you want, add beetroot powder for the color. It will be pink and smooth. Very girly indeed and that’s why I like it.  Pour the mixture into a bottle with a pump and make sure to cool it down before usage. Simple as that. Afterwards, apply it to your skin and take your pink razor out to shave whatever part of your body you want. Ha ha! Just kidding!
